Project Description

10-Day Icelandic Odyssey

Ring Road & Westfjords

This is not a highlights tour.
This is Iceland, end to end — including the part most people never reach.

In ten days, we travel the Ring Road and spend real, unhurried time in the Westfjords. Not a drive-by. Not a checklist. We slow down where it matters and push farther where most tours turn around.

Price:
Approx. 2,950,000 ISK for two people
(Private tour, all accommodation included)

What This Trip Really Is

This tour is about range and depth.

You’ll see the famous places — and then leave the crowds behind.

  • Waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches
  • Quiet fishing villages where nothing is staged
  • Long coastal roads, wide fjords, changing weather
  • Places where Iceland feels empty again

Around four full days are spent in the Westfjords — one of Iceland’s most remote regions. Fewer people. Bigger landscapes. More silence.

Ring Road Highlights (Done Right)

We cover the classics properly, without rushing:

  • Golden Circle: Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss
  • South Coast waterfalls and black beaches
  • Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon & Diamond Beach
  • Lava fields, mountain roads, long open stretches

We stop when it’s worth stopping — not because the clock says so.

The Westfjords (The Reason This Tour Exists)

The Westfjords are raw, rugged, and demanding — and that’s exactly the point.

Expect:

  • Steep fjords and narrow coastal roads
  • Tiny villages clinging to the edge of the sea
  • Wildlife, cliffs, empty beaches, real weather
  • Long drives with almost no traffic

This is where Iceland stops performing and just is.

How We Travel

  • Fully private tour — just the two of you
  • Experienced local guide who knows these roads
  • Comfortable, capable vehicle built for long distances
  • Flexible daily routing based on weather and conditions

No fixed script. Iceland decides the pace.

Pace & Activities

Fitness level: Easy to moderate

  • Short walks, viewpoints, and optional light hikes
  • Natural hot springs, when conditions allow
  • Optional add-ons depending on season (whales, glacier walks, etc.)

There is driving — that’s the trade-off for seeing Iceland properly.

When This Tour Runs

Best season: May–October
The Westfjords depend on open roads and stable conditions.

Summer offers:

  • Midnight sun
  • Maximum access
  • Smoother travel days

What’s Included

  • 10 days / 9 nights
  • Pickup in Reykjavík on Day 1
  • Drop-off in Reykjavík on Day 10
  • All accommodation included (comfortable, local, region-appropriate)
  • Daily breakfast
  • Private guide & private vehicle throughout

Not included:
Lunch, dinner, and optional activities — to keep flexibility.

Who This Is For

This tour is for you if:

  • You want depth, not just highlights
  • You’re fine with long days on the road
  • You value quiet as much as famous sights
  • You want someone else handling logistics

This is not for travelers looking for luxury spas, tight schedules, or zero driving.

Bottom Line

Ten days.
One island.
No shortcuts.

If you want to experience Iceland properly — including the parts most people never reach — this is the trip.

    BEYOND amazing!

Hands down recommend Bessi for private tours! If i had known he was this good, i’d have booked all my tours for my family with him. He is extremely knowledgeable about Iceland – there was simply no question he wasn’t able to answer! He made the tour extremely fun, enjoyable AND relaxing despite the mad weather conditions we had during our tour day! and if you want to experience true Iceland, book a tour with him because i am certain he will give his 1000% that you have a grand experience during your tour 🙂 you simply will NOT regret it!

Golden Circle & Langjökull Glacier Tour

We took the Golden Circle & Langjökull Glacier tour with Moonwalker and it was the highlight of our trip to Iceland. We are so glad we look this small group tour that allowed us to go at our own pace and get to know & learn from Bessi; he is an amazing guide & shared great insights into Iceland with his wealth of knowledge & humor. We were joined by Cami (Bessi’s dog) making an incredible trip even better. Standing on the Langjökull Glacier is amazing, but watching Cami chase glacier snow balls made this breathtaking experience even more memorable. I would definitely book this tour again (or others with Moonwalker) without hesitation. Thank your Bessi (& Cami) for this fantastic tour.

Amazing day seeing amazing sights of Iceland

Bessi was the perfect guide and the Golden Circle has so many beautiful sights. This tour was great to be able to avoid the large crowds on typical bus tours. We were able to see the sights of the Golden Circle and to do it with just the two of us and our guide Bessi. Bessi was very knowledgeable and fun. He really made the trip even better. The drive to the top of the glacier was an extra added bonus. Just us alone on top of a glacier surrounded by untouched scenery. If you are on the fence about a private versus group tour, I absolutely recommend private and I would highly recommend seeing the Golden Circle with Bessi!

    Bessí, you are a Legend

Anyone considering to book this company, stop reading and DO IT!
Bessí our guide and monster truck owner, is who you want to go with on this tour or any tour. He has all the information you need to discover the sights, history and culture of Iceland. Our tour was relaxed, no rushing from place to place, plenty of time to take a million photos, have a snowball fight, eat lunch and an extra surprise stop. We had a fantastic time. Value for money, Bessí is priceless. He is a true Viking, love you mate!

    A trip highlight

Bessi is an incredible guide. I got confused with the start time but he waited patiently for us to join him. He is extremely gracious. The tour itself was fabulous!! We loved visiting the Geyser, plate boundary and waterfall but by far the highlight was driving up onto the glacier in Bessi’s incredible and purpose built vehicle. We would not hesitate to join Bessi again. We were visiting on a cruise ship and had limited time so this tour was a fantastic way to visit the highlights. Highly recommended and beyond our expectations.
