WHO ARE WE ?

Family-owned. Reykjavík-based.

Moonwalker is a small, family-run tour company based in Reykjavík. It exists for one reason: to show Iceland the way it’s actually experienced by people who live and work in it.

There is no “team” in the corporate sense.

There’s Bessi.
And there’s Cami.

Moonwalker was founded by Bessi Jónsson, a former Icelandic Search and Rescue driver who got tired of schedules that made no sense, and tours that never left the road.

Years in Search and Rescue taught Bessi two things, how to move safely in harsh terrain, and how quickly things go wrong when people pretend Iceland is easy

That experience shapes everything we do.

This is not a volume business.
We don’t rush.
We don’t run fixed routes.
And we don’t pretend every day should look the same.

Each tour is a road trip, planned around conditions, mood, weather, and the people in the car.

How we travel

We explore Iceland the way locals do — by driving, stopping when it feels right, changing plans when the land demands it, and spending time where it actually matters.

You’re not being “guided.”
You’re traveling with someone who knows the country and respects it.

Getting to know you is part of the job.
The better we understand you, the better the days become.

And Cami

Cami is our Border Collie / Icelandic Sheepdog and Bessi’s constant companion.
She joins many tours — if everyone is happy to have her along.

She’s calm, alert, and very much part of how Moonwalker moves through Iceland.

The goal

Simple:
Give you the best days of your trip, without pressure, performance, or nonsense.

If you want a polished bus tour, Moonwalker is not for you.
If you want Iceland as it is — quiet, raw, flexible, and real — you’ll fit right in.
